Navy investigating tabletop-sized disks of compressed trash littering North Carolina beaches
Compressed saucers of trash about 20 inches in diameter have washed ashore in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. The disks are consistent with those made on Navy ships to compress plastic waste for easy storage — but the ships are not supposed to dump plastic into the ocean.
