Updated: United held at home by Saints

Times of Malta

Manchester United failed to win for a fourth successive game as they were held to a goalless draw by Southampton at Old Trafford. On a frustrating evening for Jose Mourinho's side, they lost Romelu Lukaku early after he took a blow to the head and then saw a late goal ruled out when Paul Pogba touched in Nemanja Matic's shot from an offside position. It was far from all one-way traffic, with David De Gea producing two fine saves. There were boos at full-time from the United fans, who have seen their... Читать дальше...

Roma held as VAR decisions go against them

Times of Malta

Roma's bid to break into Serie A's top three at the halfway stage of the season was thwarted in part by two video assistant referee decisions as they drew 1-1 with Sassuolo. Eusebio Di Francesco was leading the Giallorossi against his former employers and it was another man to have switched to the Stadio Olimpico, Lorenzo Pellegrini, who opened the scoring. After the break Edin Dzeko thought he had notched his ninth goal this term, but VAR decided he had been offside and, minutes later, Simone Missiroli... Читать дальше...

Falcons vie for playoff spot in regular season finale

Times of Malta

The Atlanta Falcons will clinch a playoff spot if they beat the Carolina Panthers in the final week of the NFL regular season on Sunday, an opportunity the team would love to have as it attempts to atone for last season's epic Super Bowl collapse. The Falcons (9-6) would like nothing more than to bury the memory of their February defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots in a game where Atlanta led by 19 points in the fourth quarter before suffering an eventual 34-28 overtime loss. But first... Читать дальше...

The 23-time grand slam singles champion was back on court for an exhibition clash with French Open champion Ostapenko less than four months after giving birth to daughter Alexis Olympia. Williams struggled to start with, rolling in serves and moving sluggishly, but grew into the challenge and, despite losing 6-2 3-6 10-5, there was more than enough... Читать дальше...

Both goalkeepers, Celtic's Craig Gordon and Rangers' Wes Foderingham, kept their sides in it with key saves, with Gordon pulling off a stunning point-black range stop to deny Morelos, who then sent a free header inexplicably wide.
