Woman injured in Kirkop accident

A woman was injured on Tuesday when the car she was driving overturned just outside the Kirkop tunnels, near the airport. The police said the accident happened at around 7pm. The female driver was taken to hospital by ambulance but her condition is not yet known. Sources said an ambulance was also on the site of the accident.



'My daughter struggled to open a bank account because I am a politician'

A bank initially refused to open a bank account for David Agius's daughter for her stipend because her father is a politician, the MP claimed on Tuesday. The EU drew massive demand on Tuesday for its first "green bonds", raising €12 billion in the world's biggest issuance of sustainable debt, the European Commission said. Unions' action would put 'hundred' classes without teacher, court hears

IMF ups 2021 eurozone growth forecast

Air Malta has warned customers to watch out for an online scam purporting to offer free credit and air miles. “This survey includes a link which asks users to input their credit card details,” Air Malta said on social media.  “This is a scam.” The email invites customers to participate in a short 2-3 minute survey to “gather opinions” and says 200 “lucky customers” will win €85 credit and 2,000 air miles every week.  Air Malta warned anyone who has already been duped into providing their credit card details to inform their bank immediately.

No new concession agreement, Fearne says as hospitals budget shoots up

The government has not updated its concession agreement with Steward Healthcare, health minister Chris Fearne said, as financial estimates issued with the budget speech show a spike in the funds allocated for the running of two hospitals. According to the estimates for 2022, Steward Healthcare will be getting some €20 million more than in 2021 to run the Gozo and Karin Grech hospitals.
