Veteran Brazilian defender Dani Alves said on Friday that while he is not seeking a new club for the remainder of the current Brazilian season, he is not retiring from football. A 10-year-old girl was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Paola on Friday. The police said in a statement that the girl was hit by a Mazda Demio  on Tarxien Road at 9.30am. The driver was identified as a 31-year-old from St Julian's. Investigations are ongoing.

Red Bull’s championship leader Max Verstappen will start the Russian Grand Prix from the back of the grid as penalty for an engine change. The team announced the Dutch driver would take the hit in Sochi on Sunday where he was already facing a three-place grid penalty. The Żebbuġ square will be completely car-free on Saturday evening as part of efforts by the local council to promote the use of open spaces.  In a post on Facebook, the council said the square, which is a popular meeting spot for those from the locality, will be closed for traffic between 5pm and 11pm.  "This is so that the open space can be enjoyed by the Żebbuġ family. An Indian salon has been ordered to pay more than €231,000 in damages to a model for a botched haircut which she claimed caused a "severe mental breakdown". Aashna Roy went to the salon at a top New Delhi hotel in 2018 and asked staff to trim a conservative 10 centimetres from her tips, according to a judgement by the city's consumer court.
