Employment strategy leading to 2030 to be launched before budget - Clyde Caruana

Colombia midfielder James Rodriguez left Everton to join Qatari club Al-Rayyan for an undisclosed fee on Wednesday after falling out of favour at the Premier League club. Why are bees and beehives being torched in arson attacks?

The recent arson attack on 28 beehives in Gozo was just one of a series of targeted attacks on honeybees, according to the Malta Beekeepers’ Association, which has called for increased protection and support. “It is very worrying that this is not the first case of direct attacks on honeybee colonies. There was a recent one in Għar Lapsi and countless others before that. It seems there is still not enough protection for those who suffer similar damages,” the association said. MotoGP rider Johann Zarco underwent a successful ‘arm pump’ operation and is expected to be fit for the Grand Prix of the Americas next week, his Ducati-Pramac team said Wednesday. The MSE Equity Price Index lost 0.13% to 3,874.856 points. The losses in IHI and RS2 outweighed the gain in Mapfre. Meanwhile, five other equities closed unchanged as overall trading activity remained subdued at €0.07 million. Government stock issue significantly over-subscribed

A Malta government stock issue that ended on Wednesday was significantly oversubscribed, figures released by the Treasury have indicated. The stock issue was for a total of €140 million, with an additional allotment of another €80 million set aside in case additional bids were submitted by the deadline of noon on Wednesday. Greengrocer granted bail in €25,000 fraud case

A fruit and vegetable seller who stands accused of defrauding three people out of €25,000 was assaulted days ago over the alleged fraud, a court heard on Wednesday.  Noel Bonello, 42, who told the court that he ran a greengrocer's store, pleaded not guilty to charges of misappropriation and fraud to the tune of €25,000. His lawyers Franco Debono and Noel Bezzina told the court that Bonello had cooperated with police investigators and had also refunded one-fifth of the total sum allegedly swindled - €5,000. Germany to stop payments to unvaccinated people in quarantine

Man granted bail after wife files domestic violence report against him

A man who allegedly injured his wife during a heated row at the couple’s home on Monday morning has been granted bail.  The 59-year old San Gwann man, who described himself as self-employed, was charged on Wednesday. Police pressed charges after the man’s wife turned up at a police station, claiming to have been injured during a violent argument with her husband.
