Resilient City hold Utrecht

Times of Malta

Valletta kept alive their hopes of upsetting FC Utrecht in the Europa League second qualifying round when the Citizens held the Dutch giants to a goalless draw at the Hibs Stadium. It was an impressive performance by the Maltese outfit who managed to contain their more-quoted opponents for much of the match and even managed to create the better chances but in the end settled for a draw that keeps them still within a chance of progressing ahead of next week’s second leg. Valletta came close on 13... Читать дальше...

Raft spectacle at sunset

Times of Malta

You could see it from the faces of those who had never been on one of these trips before: what was all the fuss about? After all, we were off to see birds sitting on the water and then flying to their nests for the night. Just a few hours later, however, those very same sceptics were promising to return every year, describing the experience as “unforgettable” and “magical”. Four such trips were held this year by BirdLife and one by its youth arm Falko with the University Students Council (KSU) to... Читать дальше...

A French court ruled on Wednesday that Google was not liable to pay €1.1 billion in back taxes demanded by the French authorities. The Paris administrative court ruled that Google Ireland Limited was not subject to corporate and value-added taxes for the period 2005-2010, striking down the tax administration's demands for back payments. The ruling in favour of Google, now part of Alphabet Inc, followed a court adviser's recommendation that Google did not have a "permanent establishment" or sufficient taxable presence to justify the bill. MDA: Changes to SmartCity masterplan must come with higher price for land
