Twice winners France will face Portugal in Sunday's final in Paris after defending stoutly against a Germany side who dominated possession but conceded a needless first-half penalty before being picked off on the break in the second period. The opening goal arrived in stoppage time when Italian referee Nicola Rizzoli... Читать дальше...

Why electronic voting is seen as a ‘difficult journey’

Times of Malta

Evidently dealing with a sacred cow, Chief Electoral Commissioner Joseph Church believes that every step in the digital transformation of elections in Malta “is a journey that includes difficult, yet not impossible, tasks”. A firm believer in the opportunities offered by the new technology to “improve the electoral process”, Mr Church, however, rules out a big bang approach. “I am conscious that any development has to take place within a mature debate with political parties. The dialogue among all stakeholders... Читать дальше...

The economy of truth

Times of Malta

We know now for certain that if the truth was known and said about the inexistence of Saddam Hussein’s chemical warfare capability, the British Parliament would have voted against going to war in Iraq. It would have happened despite Saddam Hussein being one of the worst dictators in the region, mostly installed and supported in the past by the same forces that bombed the hell out of the Iraqi people. Likewise, almost immediately after the Brexit vote, many have witnessed Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson... Читать дальше...
