Editorial: Why is Labour unbeatable?

Times of Malta

A government rife with a litany of serious corruption accusations and held responsible for a journalist’s murder and the country’s greylisting would have been booted out in most democracies. And our survey today showing a 47,000 gap in votes is devastating news for a Nationalist Party desperately seeking to regroup and make inroads. Colourful expression of an artist’s soul

Times of Malta

Energetic, spontaneous, colourful and bold are adjectives that succinctly define Carmel Bonello’s art. His output is expressionistic, exploring the world around him in full colour and bloom. His typical black contours, as in the expressionist work of Georges Rouault, Bernard Buffet, Oskar Kokoschka and Egon Schiele, contain the chromatic vigour of the Maltese artist’s palette. He thus emphasises the mass, energy and volume of the subject represented. This could be the humours and moods of a Maltese landscape... Читать дальше...

In all likelihood, the average reader will have come across someone who suffered a stroke, whether within immediate family or merely acquaintances. However, what very few people know is that at the heart of all these cases is a pervasive condition called Atherosclerosis – which lies silent and asymptomatic in most people for many years... When Italy's anti-mafia prosecutor listens, testimonies flow

Times of Malta

One day a week, Italy's most prominent anti-mafia prosecutor Nicola Gratteri receives people at his office to listen to their grievances. In Calabria, the poor, southern region home to the feared 'Ndrangheta mafia, issues facing locals include threats, intimidation, extortion, loan sharks and even bloodshed at the hands of organised crime. Those waiting their turn for 10 minutes with Gratteri are Calabrians who, until recently, had considered the state to be "very far away", the prosecuting magistrate told AFP in an interview. What is the point of Ralf Rangnick?

Times of Malta

I don’t mean that in a holistic sense, of course. He’s probably a lovely man, good to his wife, fun at dinner parties and an all-round stand-up sort of chap. But in a Manchester United context, why bother appointing Rangnick on a six-month hiding to nothing when Michael Carrick would have been perfectly capable of holding the fort until Mauricio Pochettino rides into town? Let’s face it, this season is pretty much a write-off for United. The title has run away from them, the League Cup a distant memory... Читать дальше...

The commercial attractiveness of sports events has never been more alive. With the passage of time, the value of the sports industry, as a whole, continues to reach new heights. Researchers have valued the global sports marked at nearly $388.3 billion (€343.3 billion) in 2020 which is an astronomical figure when one takes into account that many sport events were either cancelled/postponed or played behind closed doors owing to the COVID-19 restrictions imposed across the globe.
