BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Florida authorities arrested two teenagers Friday for making shooting threats against two separate schools, days after the mass bloodshed in Parkland. The cases are the latest among dozens of threats involving students who express to other classmates or on social media networks that they plan to shoot up schools, officials said. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter made an emergency landing in Golden Gate Park Thursday morning after a maintenance light came on in the aircraft, a spokesman said. “We had a helicopter on a search-and-rescue case that’s now closed,” said Petty Officer Cory Mendenhall. “They had a maintenance light come on and instead of continuing on their flight, they made an emergency landing.” The chopper reportedly landed around 8 a.m. in Big Rec Field near Lincoln Way and Seventh Avenue. WINCHESTER, Mass. (AP) — Police say a man approached a woman from behind at a public library near Boston and stabbed her repeatedly with a hunting knife, killing her and injuring an elderly man who came to her aid. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says the 22-year-old woman was seated at one of Winchester Public Library's reading rooms Saturday morning when 23-year-old Jeffrey Yao stabbed her with a 10-inch knife. SAN DIEGO (AP) — A sailor has died after he was struck by a helicopter blade at the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base, north of San Diego. The Marine Corps says the sailor was hit by the spinning tail rotor of a Venom helicopter Wednesday evening and died at a hospital shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday. The helicopter was on the ground at the time. The sailor was assigned to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. The sailor's name and other details of the accident haven't been released.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A tornado watch was issued Saturday in parts of four states as a strong storm system moved into the South and Plains states. ROCKWOOD, Mich. (AP) — Police say a woman whose body was found wrapped in plastic died from a drug overdose in southeastern Michigan. Rockwood police initially considered Jennifer Butkowski's death a homicide. But Chief Randy Krause tells the Monroe News that an autopsy determined it was an accidental overdose. On Saturday, Marcelle Leahy christened the USNS Burlington during a ceremony in Mobile, Alabama, where the vessel is being built. LAS VEGAS (AP) — State and county officials are teaming up to plug abandoned mine shafts left behind at a century-old mining operation southwest of Las Vegas.
