The move at Barrington High has angered parents who complain their children have been forced to get buzzed in at the main entrance, a process that has led to long lines and even later arrivals to class. EXETER, N.H. (AP) — The principal at a New Hampshire prep school who helped respond to allegations of sexual abuse against former staff and students is leaving at the end of the year. In a letter sent to the school community on Friday, Phillips Exeter Academy Principal Lisa MacFarlane says she will be returning to the University of New Hampshire where she worked for 28 years before taking over at Exeter in 2015. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Justice is reviewing a criminal investigation of a wind-energy farm in southeastern Arizona to determine whether prosecution is warranted in the deaths of a federally protected golden eagle and an endangered bat. IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Republicans who control a majority of the nation's statehouses are considering a wide range of abortion legislation that could test the government's legal ability to restrict a woman's right to terminate pregnancy. HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A veteran police officer in Hagerstown is facing criminal charges he stole and sold prescription narcotics. WBAL reports that Sgt. Christopher Barnett has been placed on unpaid leave. He was arrested at his home Thursday by Pennsylvania state troopers. Hagerstown Police Chief Victor Brito says Barnett's case "will be treated the same as every case we handle" and there can be no excuses for his alleged actions. WBAL reports that investigators say they have video footage of Barnett giving a prescription narcotic to someone.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Officials in New Haven are warning about the dangers of synthetic marijuana following a rash of overdoses. Police say they've seen more than a dozen overdoses related to use of the drug K2 or "spice" last week, at least 7 of which happened on Thursday alone. James Thomas, an outreach minister at Trinity Church on the Green, told NBC Connecticut that K2 is relatively cheap and easy to procure, making it more popular than crack cocaine in the city. LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — A website for Mount St. Helens climbers crashed when more than 10,500 people attempted to buy one of the $22 climbing permits. Mount St. Helens Institute Executive Director Ray Yurkewycz says the website crashed Thursday morning due to overwhelming demand. He says two and a half times more people tried getting permits this year in the first hour compared to 2017. MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Mesa police are conducting a homicide investigator after officers responding to a report of a stabbing at a nail salon found an adult's dead body inside the business. Police haven't released additional information of the person found dead Friday evening other than that he or she was an adult. Detective Steve Barry says other people were at the salon when officers arrived. The incident occurred Friday night near Ellsworth and Baseline roads.

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The powerful leader of Poland's ruling party says the president should approve a divisive bill that criminalizes certain statements about the Holocaust. Jaroslaw Kaczynski told Poland's state radio Saturday the bill — which has ignited a dispute with Israel — is being misunderstood. It penalizes anyone who blames Poles as a nation for the World War II crimes committed by Nazi Germany.
