Warner Bros. has named Chantal Nong as vice president of DC Films Group, an individual with knowledge of the hire tells TheWrap. Nong will now work on the development and production management of the DC film slate. WASHINGTON (AP) — An advocacy group is suing the Justice Department for not turning over records sought under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act. The group says the records could shed light on the Trump administration's dealings with private prison companies in forming new policies on incarceration. The Democracy Forward Foundation, partly funded by Democratic party donors, wants to know whether the administration's plans on prison reform may be influenced by donations and lobbying by private prison firms. Herbst Theatre was strikingly full on Monday, Feb. 19, for the first San Francisco recital by the Danish String Quartet — so much so that more than one audience member remarked on the turnout and speculated about the cause. OLATHE, Kan. (AP) — The Latest on Kansas mother jailed after three children injured after apparently being given a unsafe substance (all times local): 2:30 p.m. Olathe police say a woman involved in a child custody dispute with her ex-husband is in jail after apparently giving her three children a substance meant to harm them. The woman, 37-year-old Therese Roever, and the children were taken to hospitals after they were found by police Monday night. PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A Norwegian firm says its plan to build one of the largest inland salmon aquaculture facilities in the world in Maine could be a new model for the way the fish are farmed in America. Nordic Aquaculture wants to build a facility that would produce more than 60 million tons of salmon per year. It would use land-based tanks. Salmon farmers in Maine and New Brunswick, Canada, rely heavily on a different model that raises fish in pens in the ocean. SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio teenager charged as an adult for the killing of his younger brother after an argument over Halloween candy has been convicted of murder and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. Court records show Nicholas Starling recently pleaded guilty to the charge in a courtroom in Springfield. Clark County's prosecutor says Starling was sentenced to life in prison, with parole possible after 15 years. (AP) — Requiring more employers to provide sexual harassment training and expanding the time period for when complaints can be filed are among the proposals Connecticut lawmakers are proposing to upgrade the state's sexual harassment laws. The National Weather Service said New England's first and second largest cities exceeded their respective daily record temperatures for Feb. 20. Boston hit 69 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) on Tuesday afternoon, besting the prior record of 68 degrees that was set on Feb. 20, 1930. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A judge sentenced a convicted child molester to 12 ½ years in prison despite a 17-year-old Portland girl recanting her story of sexual abuse. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Multnomah County Circuit Judge Leslie Roberts sentenced the molester — Hassan Mohamedhaji Noor — to serve time after discovering two months ago that the girl was the product of intense pressure from family and others in her Somali American community not to speak out. MASSILLON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a seventh-grader who shot and injured himself inside an Ohio middle school bathroom also had a device in his backpack meant to cause a distraction. Police emphasized the device wasn't an explosive that would've harmed anyone. Investigators say no other students were hurt Tuesday morning in the shooting at Jackson Middle School, near Massillon. Two former residents of the Oakland Ghost Ship warehouse will head to a jury trial in July on charges of involuntary manslaughter, a judge said Tuesday. HARRISONVILLE, Mo. (AP) — Missouri game officials are asking the public for help to find anyone who helped shoot and kill 75 geese and then discarded them without harvesting any meat. The geese were found Friday dumped off a road in northern Cass County. Conservation agent Phil Needham said the suspect was in a white Toyota pickup.
