Cardinal ‘sign’ a 13-year-old to letter of intent
College football’s signing day isn’t until Wednesday, but Stanford was ahead of the pack by two days when it added a courageous teenager to its program. In a ceremony attended by roaring Cardinal players, head coach David Shaw “signed” 13-year-old Cole Baker to a letter of intent, calling him “tough, smart and a great person.” When he was 5, Baker was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.
