Surf rescue effort underway at Ocean Beach in San Francisco
Emergency responders conducted a rescue effort Friday afternoon at Ocean Beach, officials said. The San Francisco Fire Department responded to the incident shortly after 12:30 p.m., and an alert to avoid a four-mile stretch of Ocean Beach was issued for the area between Cliff House and Sloat Boulevard. “We have an active surf rescue with CPR in progress at the beach,” Fire Department spokesman Jonathan Baxter said.
