Jury convicts ex-deputy's husband in deadly confrontation

HOUSTON (AP) — A jury on Monday convicted the husband of a former sheriff's deputy of murder for the strangulation death of a man the couple confronted outside a Houston-area restaurant. Dianne Feinstein has dropped off her ballot outside San Francisco's City Hall and encouraged other citizens to vote. Stefanowski campaign seeks voter challengers in polls

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Republican candidate for governor has asked several Connecticut communities to have voter challengers in the polls on Election Day. HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Montana officials say a Bosnian man in Helena as part of an international mission to observe midterm elections was arrested for drunken driving. A Helena municipal court official says 30-year-old Ognjen Domuz (AHG'-nyen DOH'-muz) pleaded guilty Monday morning to driving under the influence. A police officer pulled Domuz over early Saturday morning near downtown Helena. Domuz was fined $785. He was ordered to be evaluated for chemical dependency and undergo treatment, if necessary.
