«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

HOUSTON (AP) — A 38-year-old Houston man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for looting a Walmart store closed during Hurricane Harvey last year. Thomas Gamelin already was on parole last August for a drug conviction when police driving by the store saw a van that appeared to have been used to smash open a door at the Walmart and then saw Gamelin carrying a television. «SFGate» (sfgate.com)

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Republican Gov. The House's bill is a response to a Kansas Supreme Court ruling in October that the state's current spending of more than $4 billion a year is not sufficient under the state constitution. "On a dollar figure, I think the House bill is a good place that could help solve this issue," Colyer told reporters... Читать дальше...

The new survey shows that monthly moviegoers only comprise 12 percent of the entire U.S. population with 43 million, but accounted for 49 percent of all tickets sold. This... Читать дальше...

Oklahoma's Fallin: Striking teachers like teenagers

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Fallin and other Republicans in the Oklahoma Legislature last week broke with the party orthodoxy and endorsed hundreds of millions of dollars in tax increases to fund public schools and give teachers a raise of 15 to 18 percent.
