Yellowstone eruption STUNS officials after uncovering ‘STRANGE items’ in its aftermath

A dormant Yellowstone geyser Ear Spring unleashed a shock eruption last September, marking its biggest such explosion in over sixty years.

Situated over a volcanic caldera, Yellowstone is famous for its hot and acidic springs, and has been linked to a future catastrophic volcanic eruption.

The park has experienced a renewed frenzy of thermal activity in the area where Ear Spring is located.

Some of the terrifying recent incidents include new vents and surface fractures, as well as a «new thermal feature» that has sparked the closure of a popular boardwalk. The geyser spewed scalding water more than 30-feet into the air on the 15th September — but only now have officials revealed the strange discovery found in its aftermath.

When Ear Spring blew last month, park authorities claim piles of rubbish rained down from the sky.

Officials from the National Park Service claim that the items can be traced back to the 1930’s and were likely objects thrown in by tourists over the last 80 years.

A spokesperson wrote on Facebook: «After Ear Spring erupted on September 15, employees found a strange assortment of items strewn across the landscape around its vent! You can help by never throwing anything into Yellowstone’s thermal features! National Parks spokesperson «Some are clearly historic: they’ll be inventoried by curators and may end up in Yellowstone’s archives.»

Among the items discovered, National Park employees found beer cans, part of a cinder block, foil, a plastic cup and spoon, cigarette butts, a sign related to wild bears, dozens of coins, and a baby pacifier from the 1930s.

Yellowstone officials have reiterated their plea for members of the public to stop throwing rubbish into geysers. 

The Facebook post read: «Foreign objects can damage hot springs and geysers. «The next time Ear Spring erupts we hope it’s nothing but natural rocks and water.

«You can help by never throwing anything into Yellowstone’s thermal features!”

The US Geological Survey has downplayed the recent surge in activity surrounding the Yellowstone volcano.

An official said: «Changes in Yellowstone’s hydrothermal features are common occurrences. There are no signs of impending volcanic activity.»
