The Kentucky New Era reports a homeowner called police to report a naked man behind his house. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Rapid City man accused of molesting multiple children and producing child pornography has been sentenced to 60 years in prison. Thirty-eight-year-old Chance Williams was convicted on two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Viken sentenced Williams to 30 years on each court and ordered a lifetime of supervised release. U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons says Williams committed "unimaginably horrendous crimes" against children.

Scorching heat and powerful northerly winds prompted the National Weather Service to issue an urgent warning for the East Bay hills and North Bay mountains on Saturday, saying any fires that ignite could spread rapidly. Pressure will build in the inland regions throughout the weekend, the warning said, leading to high temperatures, low humidity and strong winds. CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — An Indiana teacher who stopped a school shooting will be honored as grand marshal at a homecoming event at Southern Illinois University. Jason Seaman attended the Carbondale school and played football from 2007 to 2010. The university's homecoming is set for Oct. 20 when the Salukis play Indiana State. Seaman is a teacher at Noblesville West Middle School, near Indianapolis. He was shot three times on May 25 while stopping a student who fired a gun in his classroom. Another student was seriously injured.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Officials in southern Montana have released the name of a 4-year-old girl who died after reportedly being physically abused. Big Horn County officials say Remington Boyd died on June 18 at a Billings hospital, hours after being brought to the hospital in Hardin. Bridger Boyd of Busby was charged Wednesday with deliberate homicide and aggravated assault. He remains jailed with his bail set at $1 million. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Beaverton cosmetic surgeon previously released from jail on his own recognizance on suspicion of sexually assaulting two patients has been arrested again after being indicted for the alleged abuse of six more women under his care. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports 49-year-old George Allen of Camas, Washington was arrested Thursday. He faces charges of rape, unlawful sexual penetration, first- and third-degree sexual abuse and kidnapping. The indictment says the abuse allegedly occurred between January 2012 and April 2018.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island has been awarded more federal funding to combat opioid addition. The state's congressional delegation announced the increase on Friday. They say Rhode Island's share from a grant program at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration will rise from $2.1 million last year to $12.5 million. GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Federal authorities have charged a third person in connection to a drug overdose death in Grand Forks. Joshua Soeby is charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances resulting in serious bodily injury and death. The charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a minimum mandatory sentence of 20 years Soeby's wife, Holly Soeby, and her sister, Kelly Jo Nelsrud, are facing the same charges. STRATHAM, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire Democrats have made marijuana legalization part of their platform during their state party convention in Stratham. The platform adopted says Democrats "believe that marijuana should be legalized, taxed, and regulated." Democrats voted by acclamation to accept the platform as written. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Majority-black schools in Kentucky's largest district typically have high turnover rates that leave them with inexperienced teachers. The Courier Journal reports an analysis of school and district data from the 2016-17 school year found the average teacher experience among Jefferson County Public Schools' 18 "priority" schools is less than 10 years.
