CHICAGO (AP) — The conviction of a man for the murder of two Chicago police officers 40 years ago has been overturned by a Cook County judge. Judge William Hooks on Thursday tossed out the confession of Jackie Wilson that he fatally shot Chicago police officers Richard O'Brien and William Fahey in 1982. The 57-year-old Wilson alleged Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge and his subordinates tortured him into confessing to the shootings. Wilson had been serving a life sentence in prison. BROOKLYN, N.Y. (AP) — Etsy's stock soared on Thursday after the online crafts company announced an increase in fees and boosted its revenue outlook for the year. The Brooklyn company that the transaction fee charged when a person or business makes a sale will rise from 3.5 percent, to 5 percent. It will also apply to the shipping cost. The fee will be increased starting on July 16. Etsy Inc. has 2 million active sellers and nearly 35 million active buyers. SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) _ Finisar Corp. (FNSR) on Thursday reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $18.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier. The Sunnyvale, California-based company said it had a loss of 16 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 5 cents per share. BUENOS AIRES — The lower house of Argentina’s congress on Thursday approved a bill that would legalize elective abortion in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy, sending the measure to the Senate. CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) — Police in Rhode Island say a fight between high school students disrupted a funeral procession. The Providence Journal reports police responded to a fight at Ocean State Academy in Cranston Wednesday. Cranston Police say by the time officers had arrived the fight had spread into the street as a procession left St. Matthew's Church, which is next to the school. The Hattiesburg American reports the jury Wednesday sided with the city in a complaint filed by Dana Coleman, who worked as a municipal court clerk in 2012. Coleman contends she was the victim of racial discrimination and harassment by her African American co-workers and supervisors.
