«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

Trump's top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, went on "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday to convey the president's preference for dealing separately with Canada and Mexico. Читать дальше...

Blue wave? California primary could be a sign for November

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

LOS ANGELES (AP) — For all their talk of a "blue wave," Democrats need a good day Tuesday in California to have much hope of seizing the House majority this fall. No state will play a more significant role in the fight for control of Congress. And with primary elections across California and seven other states on Tuesday, the political battlefield will soon be set for the first midterm elections of Donald Trump's presidency. JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A transgender woman is suing the state of Alaska, saying she was denied coverage for medically necessary surgical treatment. The federal lawsuit, filed on behalf of Jennifer Fletcher, says the state health insurance plan excludes coverage for surgical treatment for gender dysphoria. The lawsuit states that because the only people who require medically necessary care to treat gender dysphoria are transgender, denying coverage for such health care discriminates against transgender people. Giants pregame: It’s Madison Bumgarner Night at AT&T

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

It's really amazing to look at the Giants' stat sheet for 2018. The numbers do not stand out as much as the names. In 60 games, the Giants have used 38 players, 17 position players and 21 pitchers (aside from Pablo Sandoval). So much debate about the roster hovers over spring training -- what it will look like, who is on and who is off, before some logical people step up and say, "It doesn't matter what the roster looks like on Opening Day, because it's going to... Yankees’ top pick brings memories of A’s Tony Phillips

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

I once asked Tony Phillips of the A’s for an interview about being a utility man. “Don’t you cuss at me,” he snapped. Phillips was a popular and colorful ballplayer who spent much of his life either talking or laughing and, obviously, didn’t appreciate the “utility” title attached to his name despite his extensive versatility. Two years after his death, his name has surfaced because of a nonconforming player drafted by the Yankees with the 23rd overall pick. ... Читать дальше...

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

ROME (AP) — Pope Francis has told German bishops they can't publish guidelines on whether non-Catholic spouses may receive Communion, saying the issue concerns the broader Catholic Church and can't be dealt with at the local level.
