Former Mercer student accused of threatening professor
MACON, Ga. (AP) — A former student at Mercer University has been arrested and accused of threatening a professor at his alma mater.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says 28-year-old Anshu Patre, of Griffin, was arrested Thursday on charges of stalking, terroristic threats and acts and harassing communications.
The Mercer University Police Department asked the GBI to assist in the investigation, which authorities say revealed that Patre graduated from Mercer about six years ago and had recently been sending threatening emails to one of his former professors. The nature of the alleged threats was not disclosed.
It was not known if Patre is represented by an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
