Knife-wielding man shot by LA County sheriff's deputy
LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says a deputy shot and wounded a knife-wielding man who threatened to kill two Lancaster residents and then advanced toward the deputy.
A department statement says a woman was decorating the outside of her home on Sunday when she heard a disturbance a short distance away and saw the man yelling.
The woman returned to her garage and moments later the man appeared at her driveway, holding a knife and saying he was going to kill her.
When the woman fled, the man turned his attention to a neighbor and said he was going to kill him, then advanced toward an arriving sheriff's deputy.
