University of New Hampshire exceeds fundraising goal
DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — The largest fundraising campaign ever undertaken by the University of New Hampshire has brought in more than $308 million for student scholarships and advancements in teaching and research.
"Celebrate 150: The Campaign for UNH" officially launched in 2016 to coincide with the university's 150th anniversary, though it began quietly in 2011. The original goal was $275 million.
The university says the money came from nearly 45,000 donors. More than a third of the funds went to support student scholarships, including the Granite Guarantee program for New Hampshire students.
