Students call on school board to address anti-Semitism
WOODBRIDGE, Conn. (AP) — Students at a Connecticut high school have called on the local school board to take action following several anti-Semitic incidents.
The New Haven Register reports that students at Amity High School in Woodbridge expressed their concerns to the Board of Education on Monday over swastikas found carved into a stall in the boys' locker room and on a desk. They say students have chanted "We are the Nazis" in hallways. Some Jewish families say their houses have even been vandalized.
Students pointed out that the incidents follow a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue that left 11 dead. They say hate is growing and the school is "becoming immune to anti-Semitism.
