Barclay Goodrow’s third-period tiebreaker lifts Sharks over Wild 4-3
Barclay Goodrow’s redirected goal in the third period snapped a tie and enabled the Sharks to beat Minnesota 4-3 on Tuesday night at SAP Center.
Goodrow scored his second goal of the season when he got a piece of defenseman Brent Burns’ sweeping shot from the left point at 7:25. With two assists, Burns has scored 18 points in his past 12 games to assume the team lead in scoring.
Bottom-six forward Marcus Sorensen enjoyed his first career three-point game, and goalie Martin Jones made 23 saves as the Sharks closed a four-game homestand with a 2-1-1 record.
Minnesota, which lost for only the second time in nine games, got two screen goals from defensemen during the opening 3:27 of the third period to tie the game 3-3.
