Cal men’s basketball journal from China: Day 2 with Jacobi Gordon
As part of the Cal men’s basketball program’s eight-day trip to China, members of the team are participating in an as-told-to diary with The Chronicle.
Here’s freshman forward Jacobi Gordon’s thoughts on Day 2, which included a ride on a high-speed magnetic levitation train, continuing to adjust to the time difference and unexpected wakeup calls:
“It didn’t feel like we were going 200 miles per hour, at all. At first, it felt like we were going very slow, but when we were passing light poles and things like that, you could see that we were going 200 miles per hour. It was cool how it just levitated.
“It was a pretty cool experience, because that was my first time even being on a train.
