A 15-year-old joyrider must have realised he needs more driving skills this evening when he crashed his car into a stationary vehicle, before driving off and smashing traffic light and barriers before he was stopped by police.
Police told Times of Malta the first incident happened at Pjazza Narbona close to the St Sebastian Church when the boy was seen behind the wheel crashing into a stationary vehicle. He fled the scene and drove towards Triq Manuel Dimech where he smashed his car again into traffic lights, before heading off again and smashing into crash barriers close to the Qormi primary school.
The police's Rapid Intervention Unit intervened to stop the boy from causing more damage.
Nobody was injured, despite the incident taking place in the centre of the village. It is not yet known whether he was driving his parents' car.
Police are investigating.
