Leicester dominated the first half but could not break down a disciplined Watford defence until the 56th minute when Mahrez curled a sweet strike into the top corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area. Mahrez continued to torment the Watford rearguard and Foxes defender Robert Huth missed a good chance to double the lead. Leicester are five points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur... Читать дальше...

TARXIEN RAINBOWS - 1; BIRKIRKARA - 2 Birkirkara turned the tide in their favour with two late goals to get their premier league title challenge back on track. Only once did Birkirkara threaten to break the ice when Temile drifted on the right before sending a rasping shot which finished on the side-netting. Tarxien’s reaction had Azzopardi hitting a searing shot which was diverted to corner by Miroslav Kopric... Читать дальше...

Times of Malta

Turkish police fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse protesters outside the country's biggest newspaper after authorities seized control of it in a crackdown on a religious group whose leader the government accuses of treason. A court yesterday appointed an administrator to run the flagship Zaman, English-language Today's Zaman and Cihan agency, linked to U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen who the government says plotted a coup. The ruling came at the request of a prosecutor probing Gulen on terrorism charges, state media said. Читать дальше...

Do something about it now

Times of Malta

If our Labour MPs truly love our country, now is the time to do something. It’s a mad world we live in, made madder by corruption. Right now it’s so topsy-turvy it seems difficult to know where to start. But since there are people out there who are trying hard to confuse the issue let me say what needs to be said, screaming out loudly: corruption is wrong, abominable and can never be condoned or allowed to be seen as condoned. Corruption in all its guises should be condemned. With no ifs, buts or howevers. Читать дальше...
