NEW YORK (AP) — New York City is reining in the growth of Uber, Lyft and other app-based ride services with a temporary cap on new cars picking up fares. The City Council approved a package of bills Wednesday that included a one-year moratorium on new licenses for for-hire vehicles while the city studies the rapidly changing industry. California recently made changes to its Film & TV Tax Credit Program to encourage studios to bring blockbuster productions back to the Golden State — and based on a new study from FilmL.A., the change is needed. Only 10 of the top 100 highest-grossing films of 2017 were filmed in California, compared to 15 for Georgia and 20 for Canada, according to FilmL.A.’s fifth annual Feature Film Study. 21st Century Fox outperformed Wall Street analysts’ profit and revenue expectations for its 2018 fiscal fourth quarter on Wednesday, on the back of higher content revenues at its filmed entertainment division. Fox reported adjusted per-share earnings of 57 cents for the fourth quarter, which was above analysts forecasts for earnings of 54 cents per share, according to estimates gathered by Yahoo Finance. NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Police have arrested a former Connecticut teacher for allegedly carrying on a sexual relationship with a student. Thirty-year-old Lindsey Barth of Avon was charged Tuesday in Hartford with second and fourth-degree sexual assault for allegedly having a relationship with a Canton Public School district female student.
