Left and alt-right protestors gather in Berkeley for demonstrations
Berkeley’s Civic Center Park became, once again, the site of a match between alt-right protestors and counter-protestors, defying the hopes of Berkeley city officials for a mellow day. Earlier in the week, two groups of alt-right activists, including the Proud Boys, announced plans to protest at the Berkeley park. In response, approximately 400 counter-protesters, as well as observers, gathered in Ohlone Park at 11 a.m. and marched along downtown Berkeley streets, heading toward the site of the proposed rally.
