SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An Arizona man has died in Utah after authorities say he climbed on top of a transformer box and touched high-voltage wires. Authorities say the 18-year-old Colorado City man had a severe form of autism and no fear of heights or danger. His name is being withheld until his family can be notified. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — After raising nearly $130,000 to cover tuition, the gay Florida valedictorian who says his parents kicked him out will pay nothing to go to college this fall. NEW YORK (AP) — The executive producer of the CBS news show "60 Minutes" is delaying his return from vacation until a probe into sexual misconduct claims wraps up. Allegations against Jeff Fager and CBS CEO Les Moonves appeared in a New Yorker article last month. CBS hired two outside law firms to investigate claims of sexual misconduct from several women spanning three decades at the company. BURLEY, Idaho (AP) — A Heyburn man is charged with felony aggravated battery after a woman said she jumped from a moving car to escape the man as he hit her in the face. The Idaho State Journal reports that Orlando Shaw was charged after Cassia County Sheriff's deputies responded to the hospital Thursday regarding a "severely injured" woman. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest, who made a $1 billion fortune in the cable industry and gave almost all of it away, supporting schools, museums, journalism and the arts in Philadelphia and beyond, died Sunday, a family spokesman said. Gerry Lenfest was 88. He was taken Sunday from his Rittenhouse Square home to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead of complications from chronic illness, said Fred Stein. JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) — Two Joplin companies are at the forefront of the country's battery development industry. The Joplin Globe reports that a new company, ZAF Energy Systems, is joining longtime local manufacturer, EaglePicher Technologies, in transforming how batteries are made and used. ZAF Energy is working on replacing traditional lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries with a nickel-zinc makeup. RALSTON, Neb. (AP) — A new city-sanctioned historic preservation commission aims to increase efforts to preserve Ralston's history. The commission is currently in the process of identifying sites that should be preserved, the Omaha World-Herald reported . Baltimore County Police say the incident began shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday at White Marsh Mall. LA PINE, Ore. (AP) — A Corvallis man was arrested for allegedly hitting a pedestrian in La Pine with his Lexus and fleeing the scene. Deschutes County deputies responded at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of an accident involving a pedestrian near Day Road and Buena Vista Drive.
