MG reveals its smallest Comet EV
MG Motor India has unveiled the Comet, a new electric vehicle designed for the Indian market. This compact electric vehicle will be launched by next month. Additionally, the Comet will sit below the ZS EV in the brand’s lineup. With its small size and impressive features, the Comet is set to make a splash in the Indian market.
Design and features
The MG Comet stands out with its sleek and modern design. The aesthetics of this car shines with the angular silhouette, LED reverse lights that run across the width, black ORVMs, black cladding with split LED headlamps, funky wheels, and snazzy dual-tone color. Even the rear fascia resembles the front fascia, with split taillights and a brake light bar that runs across the width of the car. Meanwhile, the car gets a charging port under the MG lettering on the front.
MG Comet features a premium space grey airy interior. The comfort creature features include automatic climate control, a 2-spoke steering wheel, an electronic parking brake, voice command, etc. The dash gets a twin-screen setup each of size 10.25 inches. However, the infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, etc. like connectivity features. Moreover, the twin-spoke steering wheel features i-pod-inspired mounted controls.
The Powertrains and launch timeline
The new MG Comet EV gets a 17.3kWh battery pack. The rear axle-mounted electric motor of the new Comet EV will belt out approx. 40-50hp of power output. Meanwhile, the MG Comet will produce 110nm of torque and 250kms of claimed range on a single charge. Moreover, the EV features 2 driving modes: Normal and Sport along with a restricted top speed of 100km/h. The all-new MG Comet EV is all set for its launch in May 2023.
