‘Chicken Mami’ downs 14 people in Tondo
At least 14 people fell ill after eating Chicken Mami in Gagalangin in Tondo, Manila on Wednesday, July 20.
According to initial police investigation, the victims suffered from dizziness and vomiting several hours after eating “Chicken Mami” sold by Joy Dela Vega Bernando, 45, a resident of 392 Gapan St., Gagalangin in Tondo, Manila. The seller also fell ill.
The victims were immediately rushed to Tondo Medical Center for immediate medical attention.
Police said sample of the “mami soup” was already submitted to the Manila Health Department and will be brought to the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Laboratory for testing.
The victims have yet to be identified.
