Pedestrian dies after struck by train

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Police in Delaware are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a train. CSX said one of its trains struck an individual in Wilmington Tuesday morning. The Delaware News Journal reports that Wilmington Police questioned witnesses after the accident. Shooting suspect was able to buy guns despite mental illness

BALTIMORE (AP) — Even though the suspect in a shooting at a Florida video game tournament had been hospitalized for mental illness, authorities say he was able to legally purchase the two handguns he was carrying at the time of the attack. David Katz had a 9mm handgun and .45-caliber handgun when he opened fire Sunday at a gaming bar inside a collection of restaurants and shops in Jacksonville. Talks with Canadian officials expected after US-Mexico deal

Uber driver charged with sexual assault in Rhode Island

WARREN, R.I. (AP) — An Uber driver has been accused of inappropriately touching a female passenger who was unconscious in his vehicle. Warren Deputy Police Chief Roy Borges tells WPRI-TV that Hermenegildo Benitez Montes of Pawtucket is charged with second-degree sexual assault. It wasn't immediately clear if Montes has an attorney. University of Missouri bans all tobacco products from campus

Cigarettes and electronic nicotine devices have been prohibited on campus since 2013.
