SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) — Police have found a child's body during the search for an upstate New York woman's missing 4-month-old boy. Authorities in Schenectady say they found the body Thursday behind the house that 37-year-old Heaven Puleski recently moved into. Her aunt, Lisa Dutcher, previously said she hasn't seen Puleski's son Rayen since June. Police could not confirm if the body was Rayen's. RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — A New Hampshire woman has been sentenced to five years of probation for defrauding her Vermont employer of more than $70,000. The U.S. Attorney's Office says 29-year-old Katie Stygles was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to credit card fraud. Court records show Stygles worked for ARC Mechanical Contractors in Bradford, Vermont, and she had access to the company credit card number. JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi is sending 20 firefighters to help battle wildfires in Colorado. News outlets report the state Forestry Commission is deploying the firefighters who leave Friday morning for Colorado. Several wildfires have spread across Colorado over the past month and forced many people to evacuate. CRYSTAL BEACH, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a 42-year-old man has been bitten by a shark while swimming off Texas and he's being treated for numerous puncture wounds to his right leg. The Galveston County Sheriff's Office says the man was bitten Thursday morning while swimming near Crystal Beach. The man was bitten above the knee. The man, whose name wasn't released, was transported to a Galveston hospital. Officials say the victim has injuries that are not life-threatening. CICERO, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a 58-year-old central New York man has died in a motorcycle crash on a highway outside Syracuse. Troopers say Andrew Lafleur of Fulton in Oswego County was traveling south in state Route 481's passing lane around 2:15 p.m. Thursday when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, left the highway and hit the guide rail separating the northbound and southbound lanes. BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a pizza deliveryman fatally shot a would-be robber after a struggle on a western Pennsylvania street. Beaver Falls police say the shooting occurred around 12:20 a.m. Friday. The deliveryman told police he had delivered a pizza and was returning to his vehicle when a man approached him and tried to rob him. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — The Wichita school district plans to use a nearly $1 million grant to improve security at its schools this year. The improvements will include upgrading classroom doors that can lock from inside, adding cameras, and buying more metal detectors. The Wichita Eagle reports a state grant earmarked for school security will finance many of the improvements. NEW YORK (AP) — A man who police say tossed his dead 7-month-old son into a river in New York City has been arrested on a charge of concealing a human corpse. Police say 37-year-old James Currie carried the dead baby in a backpack before tossing him into the East River near the Brooklyn Bridge. A tourist from Oklahoma spotted the child's body Sunday. Her body was found by a fisherman in Runge Hollow Lake June 17, nearly two weeks after her family reported her missing.
