ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis County is seeing its number of municipalities drop after a village dissolved in April and several are poised to fold in the near future. The number of St. Louis County municipalities fell to 88 when Mackenzie residents decided to discorporate nearly three months ago, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Police Department says a man has been arrested on a murder charge after a woman was fatally stabbed while in a cellular phone store. Police responding to an emergency call went to the Third Avenue store in Manhattan's East Harlem neighborhood around noon on Saturday. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Department of Education reports that investigators found "a lack of institutional control" at a charter school in Tulsa, including the school superintendent once using the intercom to tell teachers to change grades. LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — The University of Kansas Natural History Museum is celebrating the 125th anniversary of a panorama with special exhibits and programs. The wildlife panorama includes a painted backdrop and 121 taxidermy animals native to North America, the Lawrence Journal-World reported. TABOR CITY, N.C. (AP) — Authorities have accused a North Carolina doctor of illegally distributing drugs in what is being described as a "pill mill" scheme. Columbus County District Attorney Jon David told news outlets Dr. Jong Whan Kim prescribed numerous opioids and other drugs without a legitimate medical reason. Sheriff Lewis Hatcher said an investigation also revealed Kim schemed with his office manager and girlfriend, Tammy Lynn Thompson, to distribute the drugs from Kim's practice in Tabor City and other properties he owned. BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A man who was recently asked to leave a Boise apartment complex is suspected of going on a stabbing rampage there that injured nine people, including six children, police said Sunday. Four of the victims have life-threatening injuries. Timmy Kinner, 30, is facing nine counts of aggravated battery and six counts of injury to a child. MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — A new Vermont law inspired by the #MeToo movement strengthen protections for workers facing sexual harassment. The law taking effect Sunday extends the types of employees protected from sexual harassment, which now includes interns, volunteers and independent contractors. It will prevent companies from forcing employees to sign away their right to report or sue for sexual harassment and prohibit settlement agreements from including provisions that say they worker cannot work for the company in the future. NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut teenager has been detained for leading police on a chase in a stolen car. The Connecticut Post reports the 18-year-old Angel Garcia of Danbury refused to pull over on Thursday morning and led police on a brief chase before crashing and fled on foot. RANDLE, Wash. (AP) — Authorities in Lewis County have arrested two suspects after investigators searching for a missing teen found his body buried in a shallow grave. Lewis County Sheriff's Office said Saturday that a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man had been arrested by state troopers on Interstate 90 in Ellensburg. LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Officials say Lincoln police are struggling to respond to more mental health calls as mental health services are at or near capacity. Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister tells The Lincoln Journal Star that officers responded to more than 3,500 mental health calls last year. He says the department has seen a nearly 10 percent increase through May when compared with the same period last year. An out-of-control fire burning along Highway 16 in Yolo County doubled in size overnight as dangerous weather conditions persisted in much of Northern California, officials said Sunday. They say officers responded to a 911 call around 6 a.m. Sunday at Cosmo Dog Park near Ray Road and the Loop 202 freeway. The name of the woman hasn't been released yet.
