LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — The Las Cruces Catholic Diocese, the governing body of all Catholic churches in southern New Mexico, is investigating a statue of the Virgin Mary at a Hobbs church that appears to be shedding tears. NEW YORK (AP) — The National Puerto Rican Parade in New York turned into its usual boisterous celebration Sunday, but many participants also saw it as an occasion to express their more somber concerns over the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. Along the parade route in the heart of Manhattan, people carried signs with tributes like "New York Stands with Puerto Rico," ''You will not be forgotten" and "Decolonize Puerto Rico." CAIRO (AP) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed says Ethiopia will not reduce Egypt's share of Nike waters, as his country works to complete what will be Africa's largest hydroelectric dam. “The Goldbergs” actor Jackson Odell has died, according to E! News. He was 20. Odell, who played Ari Caldwell on eight episodes of the ABC sitcom, was found unresponsive at a residence on Friday, a Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office spokesperson told the outlet. The cause of death has yet to be confirmed and is pending autopsy. DENVER (AP) — A Colorado man who masterminded a scheme that fraudulently sought nearly $2.2 million in federal tax refunds has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. Jaquon Mucsarney of Aurora earlier pleaded guilty to fraud and aggravated identity theft. He was sentenced Monday in Denver. Prosecutors say between January 2011 and January 2016 the 37-year-old created 50 fake businesses and filed about 100 fraudulent tax returns seeking refunds. MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Police say actor Vince Vaughn was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and resisting arrest in a Southern California beach town. Manhattan Beach police said Vaughn was arrested Sunday morning at a sobriety checkpoint. The 48-year-old actor is best known for his roles in comedies like "Dodgeball" and "Wedding Crashers," but has landed more dramatic roles in recent years such as the drill sergeant in the Oscar-winning "Hacksaw Ridge." Police employee Nisha Bhagat says Vaughn has since been released from custody.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City police say a 4-year-old was wounded by a stray bullet that came from a nearby shootout. Authorities say two people were shooting at each other Saturday evening at a gas station in south Kansas City. An off-duty officer heard the shots and went to the scene, where one person with a gunshot wound was taken into custody. The other suspect is still on the loose. Grant County Emergency Management says the three were rescued on a road near Ellenboro early Sunday. WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester man is being investigated on child pornography charges. MassLive.com reports a homemade, child-like love doll and several pairs of children's underwear were found inside the home of James M. Stoddard. He will appear in U.S. District Court in Worcester on Monday to face a federal child pornography possession charge. Vince Vaughn was arrested in Manhattan Beach on Sunday morning on DUI charges, the Manhattan Beach Police Department confirmed to TheWrap. According to a desk clerk, the actor was stopped at a DUI checkpoint at approximately 1 a.m. He was taken into the Manhattan Beach Police Department on Sunday morning, but has since been released. While working on a film in North Carolina in 2001, Vaughn was arrested for public fighting. He entered a no contest plea and the charges were dropped after six months.

Sunny skies and rising temperatures will warm the Bay Area this week as a brief heat wave moves through the region, forecasters said Sunday. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Wichita police say a 19-year-old woman was shot and injured while on a party bus Saturday night. Police spokesman Charley Davidson said in a news release the drive-by shooting occurred near Wichita's Keeper of the Plains. Davidson says officers found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her shoulder on a Spots Party Bus. She was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. BOSTON (AP) — Police say a Roxbury man has been charged in connection to a shooting at a house party that left four people wounded. Boston Police Commissioner William B. Evans says 30-year-old Anthony Sheffield was arrested near the scene of the shooting Saturday for possessing a gun. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say five people, including a 5-year-old boy, were shot on a north Philadelphia street, and two were critically injured. Capt. Frank Palumbo said shots were fired from across the street into a crowd of people. Investigators said 41 shell casings were found. A 21-year-old man was hit five times in the chest, forearm and leg. WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A newspaper investigation has found Delaware taxpayers paid $663,000 over the last decade to settle complaints of sexual harassment, assault and discrimination. RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas (AP) — A sheriff's report shows that a Honduran man who entered the U.S. illegally killed himself in a Texas jail despite guards checking on him every half-hour and a camera in his padded cell. The Starr County Sheriff's Office says in an incident report that 39-year-old Marco Antonio Munoz was found unresponsive in his cell on the morning of May 13, a day after U.S. Border Patrol agents brought him to the jail. ABILENE, Kan. (AP) — Renovation of the 25,000-square-foot (2322-sq. meter) Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene, Kansas is underway with plans to reopen in 2019. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the museum is scheduled to reopen on the 75th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee police are investigating a suspicious death. Police were called to a Milwaukee home about a sudden death around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. A 39-year-old Milwaukee woman was found dead at the scene. Police say the death is being treated as suspicious. An autopsy is scheduled Monday. The name of the woman was not immediately released.
