ROME (AP) — The mayor of the Adriatic city of Pescara has suspended the public school lunch service as a precaution after some 80 children and half a dozen teachers were treated at hospital emergency rooms over the weekend for intestinal cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. Public health officials said Monday they hadn't determined the cause, saying the suspected food poisoning could be from a toxin or bacteria, but not a virus. REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (AP) — A former nursing home employee is charged with manslaughter and criminal neglect in the death of a 100-year-old resident in Redwood Falls. KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — A suicide bomber targeted a gathering of Afghanistan's top clerics on Monday, killing at least seven people and wounding 20 shortly after the religious leaders had issued a decree against such attacks and called for peace talks. LAS VEGAS (AP) — New fundraising numbers show Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen is continuing to outraise Nevada Republican Sen. Dean Heller in their Senate race but she's also drastically outspending him. Federal Election Commission reports show Rosen raised $1.2 million from April 1 through May 23 but spent $2.3 million. Heller raised $962,000 in that same time but spent less than half a million dollars. He ended May with $4.9 million in his campaign account. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a building has partially collapsed in Philadelphia, killing one of two contractors who had been trapped. The Philadelphia fire department responded to the collapse shortly before 11 a.m. Monday. ALFRED, Maine (AP) — A Vietnam War veteran who confessed five years ago to killing a 4-year-old girl in a 1968 hit-and-run was trying to protect children when a woman drove her car onto a baseball field in Maine during a game, striking and killing him.
