CLIFTON, N.J. (AP) — Two high school sweethearts in New Jersey returned to the high school hallway where they first met nearly three decades ago for their wedding over the weekend. Chris Gash and Jenn Sudol, who first met when they were freshmen at Clifton High School in 1989, were married Saturday at their old high school. The ceremony was small with just family members, and officiated by Clifton Mayor James Anzaldi — who says he came out of retirement for this ceremony after retiring from wedding officiating a few years ago. MINSK, Belarus (AP) — The European Union's foreign policy chief says the EU will extend a 1 billion-euro ($1.2 billion) loan to struggling Ukraine. Federica Mogherini, who was visiting the capital Kiev on Monday, told reporters the loan should "support Ukraine's economic stability and structural reforms." Ukraine is trying to improve its economy after years of inefficiency and corruption under the previous president, Viktor Yanukovych, and has been hit hard by the separatist conflict in the east. DALLAS (AP) — Two people were killed and several others injured when a band of severe weather swept through East Texas with winds in excess of 80 mph and hail the size of baseballs. The Marion County sheriff's office says 40-year-old Mary Pinney of Mont Belvieu was killed late Saturday when a tree fell on her family's tent at a campground in Jefferson. On a per-share basis, the Palo Alto, California-based company said it had a loss of $1.11. The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. BOSTON (AP) — The commander of the Massachusetts State Police is thanking law enforcement for making an arrest in the 1986 killing of her teenage sister. SALINA, Kan. (AP) — Authorities in Salina are investigating an explosion and fire that killed a man. The explosion happened around 4 a.m. Sunday at a home. By the time firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames, but they were able to keep it from spreading. The name of the man killed has not been released. JACKSON, Mo. (AP) — A Cape Girardeau man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for fatally shooting a man who was standing on a front porch holding a child. The Southeast Missourian reports 20-year-old Tavious Tipler was sentenced Friday. He pleaded guilty in January to second-degree murder in the March 2016 death of Airious Darling.
