DOVER, Del. (AP) — About 1,700 Delaware state employees were paid over $100,000 in 2017, including big names like Gov. John Carney and Chief Justice Leo Strine Jr., but also many police officers and school employees. BREWSTER, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a 19-year-old man in Brewster shot and wounded his mother before killing himself. Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers says the shooting happened around 10 a.m. Sunday. The man, identified as Mike Aguirre-Bobadilla, shot his mother in the mouth as his 10-year-old sister watched, but the mother was able to flee with the girl to a neighbor's house for help. LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Liberty University plans to add a 125,000-square-foot arena to its Lynchburg campus. The new arena will be attached to the Vines Center and be used mainly for volleyball and basketball games. It will accommodate 4,000 to 4,500 people. Men's basketball will continue to play in Vines when attendance is expected to be above 4,000. CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Prosecutors say an Arizona woman died from a former Casper doctor's prescription of a drug cocktail of two opioids, a muscle relaxant and anti-anxiety medication. Dr. Shakeel Kahn is accused of illegally selling anti-anxiety and pain-relieving drug prescriptions to patients in six states. The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Jessica Burch filled prescriptions signed by Kahn two days before her death. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Sioux Falls man has pleaded guilty but mentally ill in the death of his wife more than two years ago. Thirty-five-year-old Garrett Michael Solorzano entered his plea Friday to first-degree manslaughter in the death of Jennie Lee Smith-Solorzano. As part of a plea agreement, charges of first- and second-degree murder and possession of a controlled substance were dismissed. NEW YORK (AP) — The music comedy group Flight of the Conchords has postponed a series of tour dates after Bret McKenzie injured his hand in what he called a "very rock 'n' roll injury — falling down some stairs." In a statement posted on the band's website on Sunday, McKenzie said the upcoming United Kingdom tour of the Flight of the Conchords would be rescheduled after he broke two bones in his hand. MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Police in Tennessee say a teenager has been charged with kidnapping after a car with a baby inside was stolen in Memphis. Memphis police said on its Facebook page that 18-year-old James Williams was charged Sunday with kidnapping and theft of property. Williams was being held in the Shelby County Jail. LOUP CITY, Neb. (AP) — Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday on a stretch of state Highway 10 in central Nebraska. The Nebraska Transportation Department says the nearly $6.5 million project includes culvert and bridge repairs and grading and paving from Hazard north to Loup City. The roadway during construction will be reduced to one lane with an 11-foot (3.35 meters) width restriction.
