Report: 49ers’ Pierre Garcon drawing trade interest; Richburg won’t play
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Wide receiver Pierre Garcon, 32, whose age and declining play mean he may not be part of the 49ers’ long-term plans, is drawing interest from multiple teams in advance of Tuesday’s trade deadline, ESPN reported.
As noted here earlier this week, Garcon is a logical trade candidate for a team in mid-rebuild. Garcon, who ranks eighth among active players in career receptions, is on pace for a 48-catch, 525-yard season, which would be his lowest totals in a full season in his 11-year career. The 49ers have the 2019 option on his contract, which includes a $5.65 million base salary.
Garcon has been ruled out of today’s game at Arizona with a knee injury he sustained in a loss to the Cardinals on Oct. 7.
