Cal football responds to worst game of the year with 49-7 win
CORVALLIS, Oreg. - Cal kept its slim postseason hopes alive by responding to its worst game of the season with one of its best.
The Bears finally found some big plays on offense and consistently created havoc in the Oregon State backfield during a 49-7 victory in front of 32,390 homecoming fans Saturday afternoon at Reser Stadium.
Cal (4-3, 1-3 Pac-12) still needs to find two upsets in its final five games against opponents that entered the weekend with a combined winning percentage of .750 to qualify for a bowl game, but the Bears impressively checked off some boxes ahead of the toughest portion of the schedule.
