Arkansas woman gets 8 years for husband's stabbing death
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (AP) — A Little Rock woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison for the 2017 stabbing death of her husband.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports 44-year-old Christie Marie Buckner pleaded guilty Thursday to manslaughter in the slaying of her 55-year-old husband.
Buckner told authorities she stabbed him after he approached her with a knife. Police had been called to the couple's home, where they found Buckner applying pressure to his wound as he laid bleeding on a couch.
Police reports say Buckner in a text message exchange before the incident said she'd stab her husband if he stabbed her.
