Giants get star turns from Duggar, Stratton to beat first-place D’backs
When a team like the Giants has one foot into the following season, the powers that be home in on less-experienced players. Each game, inning and even at-bat conveys information that will inform their offseason decisions.
On a cool Monday evening at AT&T Park, which ended in a 2-0 Giants victory against the first-place Diamondbacks, they gathered some pleasing on two of their less-seasoned guys.
They learned that starter Chris Stratton, though inconsistent this, clearly has the stuff to warrant a rotation spot, and that rookie center fielder Steven Duggar might be the most potent hitter they ever stuck in the eighth spot of the lineup.
