Despite player losses, McClymonds looks to win again
McClymonds-Oakland head coach Michael Peters is the first to admit it.
“Last season was a doozy,” he said.
With eight straight Oakland Section crowns and two consecutive state titles, they’ve all been pretty impressive lately.
But indeed, 2017 was special.
The Warriors went 14-0, outscored opponents 618-105, including 174-38 in four playoff games. The exclamation point to the season was a 42-12 defeat of Golden West-Visalia in the state 5-AA finals.
Peters, the father of Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters, begins this season having lost 18 of 30 players to graduation.
“Oh well,” Michael Peters said.
