Molest defendant in California court a decade after fleeing
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A former vocal coach accused of molesting a 13-year-old choirboy appeared in a California courtroom more than a decade after fleeing to England on the eve of his trial.
City News Service reports Roger Alan Giese ("nice") was extradited last week and is being held in Orange County on $60 million bail.
The 43-year-old faces charges including lewd acts with a child. A judge on Monday delayed arraignment until Aug. 29. The defendant's attorney declined comment outside court.
Prosecutors say Giese sexually assaulted the child while working as a voice coach for the All-American Boys Chorus in 1998.
Giese failed to show up to trial in 2007.
