Markets Right Now: US stocks mixed in midday trading

U.S. stocks are mixed Thursday at midday following sharp losses the day before.
Health care stocks fell after Amazon.com said it will buy online pharmacy PillPack. Drugstores, prescription drug distributors and others sank. CVS fell 9.8 percent and Express Scripts fell 4.5 percent.
Amazon also rolled out a program to allow contractors around the country to deliver its packages. Amazon rose 1.6 percent, while UPS fell 2.2 percent and FedEx lost 2.1 percent.
The S&P 500 index added 9 points, or 0.3 percent, to 2,708. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 50 points, or 0.2 percent, to 24,167. The Nasdaq composite gained 30 points, or 0.
