Clemson: No clear cause on South Carolina fish kill
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A Clemson University professor says it's unclear what caused a fish kill in South Carolina lakes last month.
The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported a Clemson professor studied the cause of a fish kill at Lake Bowen and another reservoir in Spartanburg County.
Professor John Rogers said a spray recently used to kill algae on the water may have contributed to the fish kill, but was not the only cause.
A number of dead fish were found in the water shortly after the algae killing spray May 14.
The state Department of Natural Resources is also investigating the fish kill.
