Bumgarner’s back, bringing new life to Giants
When Madison Bumgarner bit the dust in that motorcycle spill in April last year, the Giants bit it with him.
Now MadBum is back, fully recovered from the bike-spill injuries and from a broken hand in spring training, and his challenge is simple: Return himself and his team to previous glory.
In Bumgarner-like fashion, he’s proving up to the task.
Wednesday night, Bumgarner faced the Rockies at AT&T Park. It was his fifth start since returning from that hand injury, and each start has been more Bumgarner-like than the one before it.
He was perfect for the first 14 batters before giving up an opposite-field, broken-bat double to Carlos Gonzalez.
