DICKSON, Tenn. (AP) — The Latest on the fatal shooting of a Tennessee sheriff's deputy (all times local):
1:20 p.m.
Authorities say a Tennessee sheriff's deputy who was shot and killed was responding to a call by a resident about a suspicious car.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Susan Niland said at a news conference that the Dickson County deputy couldn't be contacted Wednesday for some time after responding to the call. The deputy's car was then tracked by GPS to a location 2 or 3 miles (3 to 5 kilometers) away, and the deputy was found dead inside of it. The deputy's name has not been released.
Niland says the suspect was captured on video. Authorities have identified him as Steven Joshua Wiggins.
