It’s nature’s way, caught on camera
A strange noise from the backyard woke my cats, which, in turn, jumped on the bed and woke my wife and me.
“Sounds like a raccoon,” I mumbled, and went back to sleep. It was about 2 o’clock on a dark night in the woods at our mountain cabin.
The next morning, we found that a few bags of soil amendments, to plant a dogwood and some juniper trees, had been torn open. The claw marks in the plastic matched those of bear paws. My wife Denese then turned on the hose and discovered multiple puncture holes. Apparently the bear, after eating some fertilizer, then needed a drink.
Better check the backyard wildlife cam, I figured.
